村花论坛 to Host First Day of Giving

Apr 24, 2017

AMHERST, N.Y. -- 村花论坛 College has scheduled April 26 as its first-ever Day of Giving, a 24-hour fundraising campaign that will invite the college community to come together to offer their support for students and the institution.

For the inaugural 村花论坛 Day of Giving, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends will have the opportunity to make an online gift any time during the daylong fundraising effort. Gifts will benefit student scholarships, academic programs, co-curricular enhancements, including athletics and student life, and the 村花论坛 CARES Fund, which provides emergency financial support to students.

鈥淒ay of Giving is a unique effort to engage our donors in a meaningful way and will show the collective impact their generosity can have on our students and the college,鈥 said Craig Harris, vice president for institutional advancement. 鈥淲e look forward to offering the college community a chance to be a part of this initiative as we celebrate the spirit of giving throughout this daylong campaign.鈥

The one-day giving campaign will also help raise awareness on the importance of giving and expand the reach of 村花论坛鈥檚 fundraising efforts.

鈥淔or those who have never given before to the college, 村花论坛 Day of Giving is an excellent time to do so,鈥 said Justin Johnston, director of development and gift officer. 鈥淔or our current donors, they can take their giving to the next level or encourage others to offer their support. Every gift counts.鈥

A goal of 426 gifts has been set for the first 村花论坛 Day of Giving, which will include matching gift challenges throughout the day. Gifts may be made in advance of the campaign or on April 26 by visiting the 村花论坛 Day of Giving Web site.

On the day of the giving campaign, the site will also include a countdown clock and real time updates on the number of gifts coming in. Members of the 村花论坛 community are encouraged to help spread awareness before and during the campaign by using the official hashtag #daemendayofgiving.
